Turkologist and expert in oriental studies, Ruben Safrastyan, opines that Donald Trump’s vote as a US president will have a positive influence on the US Middle East policy, in particular, the threat of military clash between the US and Russia in Syria will ease. “The Russian-American recent relations were the causes of concern that a military clash may occur. As long as Trump announced that he is in favor of “pragmatic” politics with Russia, the threat of military clashes eases,” said Ruben Safrastyan.
In his words, the US foreign policy will be based not on the rhetoric which was obvious under Obama’s tenure but consider the realities available in different regions. According to the Turkologist, the US is conducting a more decisive struggle against the Islamic extremism. “A man who has lived an intensive business way has become a president of America. It should have taught him to be very prudent and also consider the interests of the enemies,” added the speaker.
