On November 23, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, participated in the opening session of the Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of la Francophonie (OIF) being held in Antananarivo. The Conference was attended by the high-level delegations of Organization’s 80 members, associate and observer states.
During the opening session of the OIF Ministerial Conference, Michaëlle Jean, Secretary General of La Francophonie, in her remarks presented in details the outcomes of the previous session held in Yerevan and the decisions made during that session.
Opening speech was delivered by Béatrice Atallah, Chairperson of the Ministerial Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar.
Foreign Minister Nalbandian also delivered welcoming remarks at the OIF Ministerial Conference.

The agenda of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie included issues related to the discussion of drafts of documents to be presented to the OIF Summit of November 26-27, as well as the approval of the Antananarivo Declaration.
The Conference decided to suggest to the OIF Summit to grant observer status to Argentina, Korea, Canada’s Ontario region and associated member status to New Caledonia.
