On November 24, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, while participating in the Ministerial Conference of the Organization of la Francophonie (OIF), met with Beatrice Atallah, Chairperson of the OIF Council of Foreign Ministers and Foreign Minister of Madagascar.
Welcoming the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Minister Atallah outlined that she recalls with warmth the OIF Ministerial Conference, organized last year in Yerevan on a high level, and the meeting held on the sidelines of that Conference. She considered symbolic the fact that it was in Yerevan that Madagascar assumed the Chairmanship of the OIF Ministerial Conference from Senegal.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of efforts aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries, thus emphasizing the role of the Organization of la Francophonie in bridging peoples of different continents and cultures.
The Ministers discussed issues of developing bilateral relations. The existing great potential for strengthening collaboration was outlined. The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Madagascar discussed the perspectives of cooperation in the areas of education and culture. An agreement was reached to intensify consultations between the two Foreign Ministries.
