Styopa Safaryan, founder and head of research programs of the Armenian Institute of International and Security Affairs (AIISA), attended the 6th Foreign Policy Forum in Germany’s capital Berlin throughout November 28-29. The Forum was organized by the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its partner Körber Foundation.
On November 28 Safaryan participated in the reception by the German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the forum launched on November 29 Safaryan appeared with questions and comments at the session devoted to the Middle East and Iran’s nuclear deal, as well as in the off-the-record discussion on Europe’s unity and Germany’s role.
Within the Forum Safaryan exchanged views on Armenia and regional issues with Rose Gottemoeller, the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Markus Ederer, German State Secretary, Susan A. Thornton, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, prominent experts and state political figures, ambassadors from the USA, Europe, Russia, Asia and the Middle East.
