Armenia and the EU share many common values

December 03,2016 17:20

“Originally, in the EU membership, France has fought with Armenia for signing a possibly ambitious future framework agreement which would meet Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.  We believe that Armenia shares the values that we consider to be European values.  We need to deepen the dialogue on our politics and security based on this common ground, to the possible extent develop our trade relations and sectoral cooperation in different industries”, – said Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, Jean-Francois Charpentier, in an interview with Aravot.

“The EU is the major structure in Armenia providing loans aimed at the improvement of state government reforms, support to the private sector and public administration.  We hope that it will contribute to the improvement of agriculture, e-governance, education, the private sector and business environment, fight against corruption and the reforms in the fields of independence of the judiciary.  Here are the keys to the modernization and development of Armenia. Politically speaking, we think with other international actors that the EU can assist Armenia in strengthening the civil society with any democratic development ground and human rights situation,” added the ambassador.
