This is the Christmas tree in one of the main square in Madrid, the Puerta del Sol. It is unchanged for the second year. The Madrid City Hall considers a luxury to make unnecessary expenses in a country with the economic crisis, immigration and employment problems.
Unlike the Madrid City Hall, the Yerevan City Hall, every year, spends AMD 18-20 million to give a festive look to our capital. It’s true that people say that a part of this money is provided by benefactors but some funds are also allocated from the municipal budget. This year was not an exception too. But this does not mean that our country is prosperous and rich than Spain, and Yerevan does not need to make savings too.
