YEREVAN (A.W.)—The former leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), Gagik Tsarukyan, is returning to Armenian politics, PAP chair and head of its parliamentary faction, Naria Zohrabyan told reporters on Dec. 5.
While Zohrabyan said that Tsarukyan will participate in the upcoming “political processes,” she did not provide details about his return. “In what way, in what format [will he participate]? I am certain that everything will become clear soon,” Zohrabyan said, adding that Tsarukyan will soon announce the details about his return to the political arena.
It is not yet clear if Tsarukyan will once again lead the PAP, though Zohrabyan did not rule out the possibility, “It was our proposal that Mr. Tsarukyan once again head the Prosperous Armenia Party, [but] it’s up to him to decide,” she said, adding, “Tsarukyan is coming [back]; he will return to make major systemic changes in our country.”
