Armenia’s Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies reports that Berd-Tchambarak road and Vardenyats mountain pass are barely passable due to snowstorms as of 09:30, December 7.
According to the release, there are black ice spots on Dilijan highway, Gavar-Martini, Stepanavan-Tashir, Vayk- Saravan, Sisian-Goris roads as well as on Vardenyats mountain pass.
Road construction companies serving the aforementioned highways implement round-the-clock cleaning works, including placing ice and sand on the roads.
All interstate and republican roads are open. The release recommends drivers to use winter tires to avoid accidents and traffic jams.
Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open to all types of vehicles with antiskid chains (except truck with trailers), according to Emergency Situations Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry.
