“The same thing will happen this time, there are risks of corruption: election bribes, abuse of administrative resources, and the following circumstance, the fact that the political party is in the power is used. It remains that it is not used for depriving other political parties of their chances. Perhaps, the problem will occur this time too, as to what forms, we will see,” told Director of “Transparency International” Anti-corruption Center, Varuzhan Hoktanyan, in a conversation with Aravot.am, referring to possible manifestations of corruption in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Assessing the work of the new government, he noted that the 100th day of the performance of the latter will end soon, at that time, only the center will publish its assessments. “But even if it were five hundred days and nothing is done, I have no hope … Some legislative measures are taken but a political will be displayed when they were fulfilled. Yet, not much time has been passed to understand how they will be used,” concluded Varuzhan Hoktanyan. Note that yesterday, it was the international anti-corruption day, and on this occasion, the “Transparency International” Anti-corruption Center published information about this year’s research.
