President Pedro Agramunt today strongly condemned the terrorist attack near the Besiktas football stadium in Istanbul. Two blasts reportedly killed at least 38 people and wounded many more just hours after the end of a match.
“Our thoughts are with the victims, families and the Turkish people,” the President stressed.
“The attack in Istanbul only strengthens our resolve to defeat terrorist forces,” he said calling for increased international cooperation and concerted action in full respect of the principles of human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
Pedro Agramunt assured the Turkish authorities and the people of Turkey of the Assembly’s solidarity and support. “We stand side by side with Turkey in the fight against terrorism. Only together will we overcome the fear that terrorists are trying to create in all spheres of our lives.”
