President Serzh Sargsyan received today the newly appointed French Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Stephane Visconti.
The President congratulated Ambassador Visconti on his appointment and wished him success in the implementation of this important diplomatic mission. Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that the mediation efforts of the countries-Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group – Russia, the United States and France – aimed at the exclusively peaceful resolution of the issue and based on international norms and principles will continue in a constructive way. He underscored that Armenia is ready together with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to make efforts towards that end.
The French Co-Chair conveyed to Serzh Sargsyan warm greetings from the President of France François Hollande and assured that he would work diligently on this new position, conscientious of all difficulties and the importance of the issue since it relates to the stability and prosperity of the entire region.
