The meaning of the “panic”

December 21,2016 12:08

I must admit that no one in the world is afraid of me, and I am not only upset with it but, on the contrary, I am happy with it.  Neither at home nor at work nor in personal and social contacts I do something “scary”.  I want people to think over in my words which I say or write, even dispute and disagree but to cause fear and assume that my words are scary and be proud of it?  I do not know why is possible to achieve it.

The politicians, of course, are different.  They are sure or pretend to be sure that their every move make the opponents get into a panic because their every word and every sentence has such a powerful and unbreakable force that the opponents start shivering from these terrifying power.  Suppose politician A tells the politician B, “idiot”, the politician B replies, “You are the idiot”, which is followed by the reaction of politician A, “Ehe՜, I scared you, you are clutching from feathers and respond me?”  There is a second option: politician B answers nothing.  In this case, politician A says, “Ehe՜, you have no courage enough to answer me. Did you surrender under the pressure of my iron logic?”

The phrase “the regime is in panic” has become a popular maxim.  Any pronounced or unpronounced word can be the witness of this “panic”.  This “classical” formulation has options: “they were scared to death from our powerful rally,” “they are wearing pampers because of our powerful movement”, “they take a tincture of valerian after our every action.”  As an advertisement of own power, maybe it is good.  As a cultural phenomenon, it is a stalemate.

This approach is the private manifestation of the mind that unfortunately a quarter century ago, it was laid down in the bases of our state that allegedly by intimidation, blackmail, and collecting discrediting evidence, it is possible to achieve certain goals.  I remember when in the far away in 1994, Ashot Manucharyan who before that was occupying the position of the Chief Adviser on national security affairs of the RA President, began to make opposition speeches at the Liberty square, he was constantly threatening, saying, now I will disclosure this one and then I will disclose that one.  But the palace intrigues could be interesting for 2-3 days and then another chewing gum is thrown into the people’s mouth which of course also becomes old and so on.

Politics, I think, should not be the place to clean personal accounts.  In general, there should be no sphere, even if someone is worthy of wickedness and vengeance, then it is not us to deal with it.  “Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord” (Romans 12:19).
