Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Armenia will mainly cover the economic cooperation and the opportunities of Armenia to be a transit country,” – opines political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan.
In a interview with Aravot.am, he mentioned that although Iran is free from consequences of sanctions, it has big projects with Azerbaijan. And Armenia is also a part of its programs, “Certainly, there are political challenges which I think are in the phase of overcoming. I am confident that Rouhani’s visit will be effective in terms of the development of bilateral relations.”
As mentioned by the political scientist, very few people in Armenia and Iran can be interested in Azerbaijan’s swaggers with the cooperation with Israel, “However, Israel-Azerbaijan military cooperation is also a threat to Armenia and Artsakh in some extent. We saw in April the impact of the weapons purchased from Israel for Azerbaijan.”
