On December 20 Tigran Mkrtchyan, Armenia’s Ambassador in Estonia (residence in Vilnius), met Margus Tsahkna, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Estonia.
During the meeting the sides touched upon Armenia’s cooperation with NATO in the framework of Partnership for Peace (PfP), particularly lending importance to Armenia’s role in the context of peacekeeping operations. Ambassador Mkrtchyan noted that by actively participating in international peacekeeping operations Armenia is having its own contribution to the provision of security in various corners of the world. Estonia’s Defence Minister in his turn presented his country’s role in peacekeeping operations.
The sides discussed the perspectives of cooperation between the Defence Ministries of Armenia and Estonia, highlighting the necessity and importance of organising mutual visits.
During the meeting a number of international and regional issues were touched upon.

On the same day Ambassador Mkrtchyan met parliamentarians led by Marianne Mikko, member of EU Affairs Committee and Raivo Aeg, member of the Legal Affairs Committee.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan presented his interlocutors issues on the agenda of Armenian-Estonian bilateral relations.
The sides underlined the necessity of activating parliamentary interactions and in that context lent importance to the format of friendship groups’ role.
The interlocutors also touched upon the negotiation process of Armenia-EU Framework Agreement.
