Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s issue at the National Assembly.  Farmanyan is complaining why Mkhitaryan is not on the list of 10 top athletes.

RPA MP Samvel Farmanyan made a remarkable statement in the National Assembly.  He said that there is a Republican Federation of Sports Journalists of Armenia that compiles a list of 10 top athletes of Armenia every year, “As expected, this year, the list was compiled and the best athlete was recognized our pride, Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan.  Logically, this list includes names of our other pride: Mihran, Gor, Simon, Nazik and so on.  I am excited about the fact that this Federation is compiling this list every year by its own standards and our football genius and our football ambassador Henrikh Mkhitaryan is left out of this list which is beyond the logic.

Indeed, Henrikh Mkhitaryan does not need to be on the list of 10 top athletes of Armenia but for comparison, I must say that when searching Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s name in the search engine, it give 9 million results while the search engine for the Olympic Games in Baku which spent millions of dollars is giving a total of 2 million results.”  Samvel Farmanyan said that today Henrikh Mkhitaryan is not only the leader of the Armenian football, but he also acts in the super clubs, is recognized as the best player of the German Bundesliga, makes the Armenian sports popular and is doing more than 10 sports ministries and 10 committees altogether.

Samvel Farmanyan is puzzled by the standards that were used to compile the list of the 10 top athletes.  If they meant the awarded medals, this means that if the national football team of Armenia overcomes the rounds and defeats the semi-final and is not awarded a medal, so whether we can say that we have not registered any result.
