Azerbaijan has made very insulting statements against Iran during Rouhani’s visit to Armenia

December 23,2016 16:41

An expert on Iranian studies, Vardan Voskanyan, opines that interlinking the deepening of Azerbaijan-Israel relations with the visit of the president of Iran to Armenia is not correct.  The visit of the President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, to Armenia was prepared prior to the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Baku.  “Armenia must be guided with Iran by its own agenda, however, it does not mean that we should not follow what is going on in the region,” – said Vardan Voskanyan at the meeting with the reporters at the Armenpress press center.

According to him, it is noteworthy that the Azerbaijani experts’ circles have associated Rouhani’s visit with Netanyahu’s earlier visit to Baku, “Very tough statement, even insulting phrases were voiced against Iran, in particular, a “mullah regime” which is a severely negligent approach by Azerbaijan against an Islamic country like Iran.  I think Iran will coordinate its activities in the future so that to adequately respond to such statements.”
