Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan held a consultation with the heads of the agencies concerned to discuss investment packages received from Gegharkunik Marz of Armenia in line with the arrangements made during the Premier’s recent visit to Gegharkunik Marz. The meeting looked in detail each proposed business project, which related to the development of cheese industry, the production of dairy and agricultural products.
Noting the importance of Marz-related investment projects, Karen Karapetyan emphasized that the Government will co-finance and support those projects of strategic importance, which are feasible with evaluated risks and can turn into effective businesses capable of generating new jobs and ensuring a multiplier effect.
Summarizing the discussion, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment and the Central Bank to consider the possibility of providing assistance in the implementation of the projects approved by the Government.
The Premier told the agencies concerned to create a platform, involving the Central Bank, aimed at administering business courses and educational programs for entrepreneurs, which may help develop investment projects in a more thorough and effective manner. The Government next discussed the investment packages received from other Marzes.
