Armenia is planning to open a Consulate General in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Cabined adopted the respective Presidential decree during the session held on Thursday.
The justification of the decision reads that relations and multisector cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and the Gulf states are marking annual growth.
Certain trade and economic relations had been formed with those states before the diplomatic relations were formally established, in particular via Dubai.
Today, Dubai represents one of the principal world trade and economic centers with an estimated 2,500 – 3,000 Armenian citizens living in the city.
Apart from consulate services, the opening of a Consulate General will provide opportunities to launch an activity aimed at the deepening of the trade, economic and investment cooperation.
