Armenian Men and Women Chess Championships: Round 1 over

Round 1 of Armenian Men and Women Chess Championships took place yesterday, chessfed.am reports.

In Men’s Championship reigning champion Zaven Andriasyan defeated Samvel Ter-Sahakyan with black pieces. In the first round Robert Hovhannisyan claimed an important victory over Tigran L. Petrosyan. Hovhannes Gabuzyan also started the tournament with a victory.
Games between World U 18 champion Manuel Petrosyan and World U 16 champion Hayk Martirosyan ended in a draw. A draw was fixed in a game between Tigran Harutyunyan and Arman Pashikyan.
In round 1 of Women’s Championship reigning champion Maria Gevorgyan’s rival was 2015 Armenian women champion Susanna Gaboyan. This important game ended with Gevorgyan’s victory. Round 1 was victorious for Anna Hayrapetyan, Mariam Avetisyan and Arpine Grigoryan. The only draw was agreed in the game between Armine Babayan and Anna Sargsyan.
