Political forces of Armenia have already completed “consultations” of who will form an alliance, what alliance it will be, and who will be included on the list, what list it will be. Actually, everything in the ruling front is more or less clear. Although the reporters are trying to see here some serious contradictions, the corrections will be purely tactical. The issue of Karen Karapetan’s being on RPA list or not is secondary, regardless of this circumstance he will fight for the victory of his party. Certainly, there are intrigues but in the “second echelon”: who will get a share and what share it will be. I do not doubt that the solutions will be traditional: the preference will be given to money-spinners, “vote-bringers” and “problems-solvers.”
Consultations are going on in other parties, I can barely call all of them an “opposition”. The main subject is money, or better to say, the possibility of “being grafted” to the money-spinner. Here, the choice is quite limited: the big part of money-spinners openly or in secret are with RPA. Three Moscow-based Armenian millionaires are left: Samvel Karapetyan, Ara Abrahamyan, and Ruben Vardanyan, while in Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, Gagik Tsarukyan and Khachatur Sukiasyan. There are no other “alternative money-spinners”. As to what extent the above-mentioned Moscow-based Armenians “alternative”, it is still a question. Quite possibly, they are connected with RA authorities and even if they have political ambitions, they apparently are “exposed to correction” from Baghramyan 26.
To some extent, the same can be said about the others. Whom will Robert Kocharyan give money? Will he actually give? Will he declare about his political inclinations (it is clear that he will not try to create a new party in two months)? There are no answers to these questions. The “circles of interests” of the other two rich are more or less clear. Tsarukyan (who has “opened the closed page”) PAP, “Unity”, “Heritage”, Ohanyan-Dallakyan tandem and a number of smaller parties. Kh. Sukiasyan, ANC, “Yelk”, maybe “Free Democrats”, Bagratyan. I think this is the subject of consultations. The rest about “what we can do to take this country standing on the verge of collapse and this poor nation out of this tragic situation”, all these are spices.
Undoubtedly, the formation of two more “money” poles with their party structures and campaign resources apart from RPA will contribute to the development of the political system. Hence, we can only wish good luck to “those consulting”. And with regard to “spices”, we wish fresher ideas. Usual whining seems to be a bit outdated.
