As reported by Aravot.am, “Yelk” alliance consisted of “Bright Armenia”, “Republic”, and “Civil Contract” parties has been involved in active negotiations with PANM, ANC, and several other political forces but the latter have learned about the formation of the alliance from the press, being the so-called “left out” from the alliance. Aravot.am asked PANM Spokesperson Karen Karapetyan whether their party was actually left out of the “Yelk” alliance about which they had learned from the press and were surprised.
Mr. Karapetyan did not refute the news nor confirmed, “I do not know whether this is true or not. We are not surprised at the conclusion of any political process because usually when a union is formed, the processes of the formation of this union becomes apparent. It is difficult for me to answer your question.” In Mr. Karapetyan’s words, PANM is currently involved in discussions with all opposition forces, he refused to give any name, reasoning that there is no clarity yet. To our question whether they continue discussions with “Yelk” alliance, Mr. Karapetyan did he make clarifications, he repeated – with all forces.
According to him, during the discussions, they did not aim at necessarily uniting. “Bright Armenia” party spokesperson Ani Samsonyan said that they were involved in the discussion prior to signing the memorandum of “Yelk”, and there were no discussions afterwards with ANC and PANM, “There were just negotiations prior to signing of the memorandum and it was their decision not to be involved in discussions, currently we have no negotiations with PANM.” Later on, Ani Samsonyan corrected her words, “They have not created reasons for cooperation and meeting. Specifically with PANM as such, we did not have discussions with this party, maybe they were at the level of individual members, conversations within the framework of deputies but no official meeting with ANC and the PANM. We had official discussions only with “Heritage.””
