Restoring diplomatic ties with Russia not on Georgia’s agenda

“Georgia does not intend to restore the diplomatic relations with Russia before the process of tackling the issue regarding Georgia’s occupied territories begin,” The special representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia on settlement of relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze has noted the aforesaid commenting on the information spread by Russian news outlets, Panorama.am reports.
As the Georgian media outlets inform, he has mentioned that the Russian media outlets have presented his speech correctly, however the outcome was completely different on the basis of the whole context.
“As for the restoration of the diplomatic relations I have told them that in this state we do not intend to consider that issue and to make deals over it. The issue will be on the agenda when the settlement process of the issues of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions launches and serious progress is registered. Georgia has not changed its stance regarding that matter,” he noted.
