‘Our childhood dream was not to come and work as a lawmaker:’ Levon Zurabyan

February 16,2017 07:31

Why did you decide to participate in the elections with an alliance, you have also said that you had more resources in the previous elections than now, so why did you go with an alliance? To the question of Aravot.am, ANC leader Levon Zurabyan replied, “First of all, why not because we have had a very effective and very principled and pure cooperation with Stepan Demirchyan’s headed People’s Party of Armenia. Why should this or that party give up an ally if this ally has justified itself?”

To our question of whether they failed to persuade to participate in a single list rather than with an alliance for it is easier to overcome the 5% threshold than the 7%, Levon Zurabyan replied, “And why should we persuade something? We do not pursue the goal to exceed the 5 percent. Our goal is not to overcome the barrier. We see a much bigger mission in front of us. Let the parties whose sole goal is somehow to enter the parliament think about such matters. Our childhood dream was not to come and work as a lawmaker and use these leverages for our own influence. Our goal is a little higher, and it lies in the fact that we will be able to change the course of our country by our political influence.” To the question of what expectations he has from these elections, he replied, “We have these very expectations that we will be able to get the chance to change the course of the country as a result of these elections.”
