“If they punished Levon Yeranosyan’s brother, Jrarat accident wouldn’t occur”: ORO on Jrarat shootings

March 15,2017 09:28

The members of ORO alliance are conducting a campaign in Goris.  Armen Martirosyan talked to people in Goris about Jrarat’s shootings.

“Today Jrarat’s accident has had an unpleasant continuation and there is a wounded amongst our supporters, but we are not going to give up our fight,” he said. “We’re not going to do what the authorities tell us to, which is to stand back. That’s because we have to spread our views throughout Armenia.”

Armen Martirosyan said that the police have to entirely serve the law and the nation. “What happened in Jrarat, is a result of some unpunished police officers. We strongly condemn it and demand the legality to be restored. In fact, we can say that the authorities have ruined their legal duty of holding normal elections and the duty that our international partners have trusted them with. If Levon Yeranosyan’s brother, who has been secretly back to service, were punished for his illegal possession of firearms and for attacking the house of those people, today this accident wouldn’t take place. The police should never be a punishing circle for the society. It’s the society who pays them their salaries from their taxes. The role of the police should be the struggle against crime, not the protection of illegal authorities”. Armen Martirosyan assured that they will restore justice in Armenia.

Former 3 ministers founded ORO Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian alliance: Seyran Ohanyan former Defense Minister and former Foreign Affair Ministers Raffi Hovhannisyan and Vartan Oskanian. The alliance is going to participate in parliamentary elections scheduled for April 2.
