Karen Karapetyan to Nikol Pashinyan: Low-quality fuel in Armenia

March 15,2017 07:30

“Yes, in the past, low-quality fuel and not even diesel was coming to Armenia.  The equipment was not working when mixing it with diesel fuel.  The next batch of the fuel which we had stopped on the border was not diesel and later it was found out that it is a heating oil.  460 tons were imported to Armenia.  It does not have high consumption in Armenia, and we have allowed this fuel enter Armenia just because we have imperfect standards that have no restrictions but we definitely know that this fuel is not in demand in Armenia,” said Karen Karapetyan in Avan administrative district.

Karen Karapetyan was performing the RPA campaign.  This statement referred to the statement of NA deputy Nikol Pashinyan who ranks the third in the “Yelk” alliance that the fuel imported from Iran was not allowed to enter Armenia.  The Prime Minister says that one should not have a big logic to understand that this fuel should be mixed and sold under a different name.  “But having no legal basis not to allow it, it has passed a customs clearance.  Anyway, currently we are closely following where this fuel will go,” he said.
