Karen Karapetyan: ‘We must change country’s mood: we have begun to smile less’

March 16,2017 07:31

“We know how to change the country,” said Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan addressing his words to the people gathered to the RPA election campaign at the House of Cultural of Nor Nork administrative district.  Someone from the crowd asked the Prime Minister how RPA can bring into effect its own motto “Security and Progress.”  “It means I have to tell the whole program,” said the Prime Minister. The man facilitated Prime Minister’s task.  He spoke only about the cultural aspect of the RPA program.  He said that we have a problem in making our culture recognizable to the world, “We have the inner conviction that everybody must recognize us and those who do not recognize are half-educated.  Karen Karapetyan agrees to the idea that “Ours is different” and believes that this ad worked well too, but he also believes that we must also allow other cultures to be adapted in our country.  We must also allow our young people to be modern.  This does not mean at all to betray national traditions and deface the family.  The Prime Minister was also asked about the investments.  He said, “The business should not be hampered,” also, “it is required to work hard.”

Another one from the crowd was concerned about the fact that our clever young people get educated abroad, stay there after the education, and contribute their knowledge to the development of other countries because they are paid well.  “We must have job openings, pay high wages so that when it comes to the choice, this young man will choose ours,” said Karen Karapetyan.  Generally, Karen Karapetyan says that we must change the mood in the country, we have begun to smile less.  “When a person is introduced, they say that he is a positive person.  We say that it is good, it means that he has a background,” said the Prime Minister and added, “You would say that it is very easy for me to say. But we talk to people and know everything.”  In this context, Karen Karapetyan told the “joke of an elephant”.  He said, “Tomorrow, you will read in the press that he told the joke of an elephant for the third time but I am telling it for the second time.” The joke is this: “One man is selling an elephant for one million dollars.  Someone comes to buy and asks, why is it one million?  He says because it speaks English and cultivates potato in the garden.  The man buys the elephant.  Some time later, the seller and the buyer meet.  The buyer says, hey, bro, your elephant does not speak English nor knew what to do with the potato … Find someone to sell for 500 thousand.  He answered, hey bro, you will not sell an elephant with such a mood.”
