“There is no new and independently elaborated program which will address the provisions of the Karabakh problem,” said the Executive Director of “Against Legal Arbitrariness” NGO Larisa Alaverdyan, on March 20, at the “Tesaket” press club. As mentioned by Mrs. Alaverdyan, the 9 political parties running for the parliamentary elections can be divided into two parts: according to the claim by one part, the only way out of the settlement of the situation is the handover of the territories, while the other part highlights its view of handing over the territories in the context of its program. “It seems they do not realize that handing over a part of territories equals to a whole as it is accepted by the mathematical theory,” says the public-political activist Larisa Alaverdyan.
She believes that it is easy for the current government to have a political force in the parliament which will constantly talk about handing over the territories, “The thesis to hand over the territories for targeted reason is quite beneficial to the current authorities.” In her words, the Artsakh issue is not thoroughly presented in any program of political forces, and even the idea is not voiced that the package underlying the solution of the Karabakh issue has completely exhausted itself and proved its inefficiency, “It is possible for Azerbaijan to mature the change of political course with its activities and elaborate a new trend. At present, the political forces are pledging to negotiate better than their precedents, and proved that all the flaws inside the parties are connected with the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh.”
