“It is amazing that the first President of Armenia and his teammates accuse other political forces of not having the Karabakh conflict settlement program in the event when Ter-Petrosian announces on television that he is not offering but expressing a position on the “Madrid Principles”, said parliamentary candidate of “Free Democrats” party, political scientist Styopa Safaryan, in an interview with Aravot.am, referring to the recent interview of the RA first President, ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
He stressed that for example, the position of the “Free Democrats” on Artsakh is clearly reflected in their pre-election program, “Without reading these points and openly accuse other political forces from the television that they do not have a position is a political jugglery. Many political forces have expressed their position.” According to our interlocutor, the only political force that has no Karabakh conflict settlement program is the “Congress-PPA” alliance, “The political power that comes to power must tell what they reject in the document formed as a result of the negotiations, and what they are going to change after coming to power.
While Ter-Petrosyan says that he has no offer, instead, there is an offer, the “Madrid principles”, about which he expresses his position. The program about which Ter-Petrosian speaks and which some people even call the “Artsakh handover” program, I would name a program jeopardizing Artsakh and its people. If someone is talking about the deployment of peacekeeping forces, I, first of all, understand that the conflict thus is not resolved but is frozen in a different format.”
