ARF nominated candidate Anahit Harutyunyan said in the recent press conference that the ARF has very high expectations from these elections, this time they will have more seats than in the previous convocation of the National Assembly, “The population has the big portion of confidence which is seen towards the ARF and I feel it. After these elections, I think we will have double or triple more seats in the parliament than before.”
Aravot.am asked Anahit Harutyunyan that Armen Rustamyan was saying that the RPA is discredited, and now when the ARF has formed a coalition with the RPA, why ARF should get more votes than in the previous elections when the ARF party was still an opposition. She replied that they have signed an agreement with the RPA party on the constitutional amendments, “The ARF has solved a very important issue. The Parliament is going to be the main ruling force in Armenia after the elections. If this is going to have a bad influence on the rating… Yes, the great part of the authorities is discredited because they have not duly fulfilled their commitments, at least in the last 5 years. However, I will not say that a whole party, the RPA or ARF or any other party which is having ruling leverages has been completely discredited. I believe that the fact of a person is very important and he plays a vital role in the party to choose the right people and the appropriate people.”
She said that the authorities worked very badly in the last 5 years. We clarified, however, what should the ARF count on for receiving more votes in these elections than previously, Anahit Harutyunyan said she has realized it from the communications with people, “There is a common opinion with everyone that the ARF’s electorate is stable. It neither grows nor becomes less, however, I think that this time it will grow. Because other political forces have done their job very badly, at least those who had the majority and have assumed commitments have not worked well. Should they have worked well, perhaps the ARF’s performed positive work would not be so apparent today. But now, we can see in comparison that every single member of ARF has acted fairer.”
