Aravot.am asked the ARF Bureau member, the responsible for the Armenian Cause and Political Affairs Office, Giro Manoyan, about his opinion regarding the arrest of the former Commander of the Defense Army, Samvel Babayan.
“The information that I have are very preliminary. If indeed it is associated with the case by which the National Security Service has released information that weapons were brought to Armenia via Georgia, it causes anxiety, but we must have facts for the remaining information. I cannot believe that his arrest was unsubstantiated for our NSS is not so unproductive. If indeed there is such a crime, there should still be a trial. In any case, it is disturbing, it speaks of other things, but let us not run ahead, maybe other facts will also be published, which will make easier to draw conclusions.” ‘
Recall that in response to numerous inquiries by various media, the RA National Security Service press center reported that 3 persons are arrested, including RA citizens Samvel Babayan, under the criminal case filed on the fact of transporting an “Igla” type of antiaircraft missile complex to the Republic of Armenia thru smuggling.
