On March 23, the “Article 3” club hosted a public hearing, which was attended by the first three on the list of the “Free Democrats” Alliance: Khachatur Kokobelyan, Hrant Bagratyan and Styopa Safaryan. During the discussion, Khachatur Kokobelyan noted that the world is developing by hours while Armenia is rapidly crashing down by hours, “We have no time. No need to do something new in this world to improve this situation. This problem can be solved by only 2-3 laws for bringing investments to Armenia. Armenia needs a specific investment guaranteeing fund. I am far from thinking that our compatriots who live abroad have to make investments in Armenia just for being an Armenian, there is no such thing.”
Styopa Safaryan referring to the EaEU said, “Quitting the EaEU is not a caprice, quitting the EaEU is not a matter of preference. First, Armenia sovereignty should be restored because the state must have a degree of freedom to pursue a foreign policy independently. We have transferred a lot of rights to the Eurasian Economic Union, and Mr. Bagratyan has repeatedly mentioned that we will still face a much more complicated situation after the new Customs Code enters into force. However, if our foreign policy program has stated the Armenia-Iran, the Persian Gulf-Black Sea communication corridor and other issues, Armenia needs to have a degree of sovereignty to become an integral link in these matters and these major geopolitical projects. Which we can have only when quitting the EaEU.”
