“The European Union has provided more than 7 million euros to support the implementation of the new technologies,” in the interview with journalist said the head of EU delegation to Armenia Piotr Switalski.
In his words, Armenian voters should have confidence in the new elections, in the new technologies: “The European Union and its member states represented in Armenia are watching very attentively all aspects of the electoral campaign, all the signals of irregularities and improper behavior”.
Piotr Switalski also referred to unused ballots: “As we know the Electoral Code makes it illegal to bring out the unused ballots outside of polling stations. And of course, there is a big discrepancy between the unused ballots who are present at the polling stations and the number of votes, then it will give rise to suspicions that something was wrong. All in all, we are gearing for good elections, better elections than in the past, elections which will set good standards for the future democratic procedures in Armenia. But the decisive factor is the behavior of the voters: it is in the hands of voters to make these elections a success.”
