During the meeting with the journalists at the “Hayk” Center, Aravot.am asked the ARF MP candidate Arthur Yeghiazaryan about his opinion on RA first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s allegation in yesterday’s interview that if, for example, Armen Rustamyan and Aghvan Vardanyan were foreign ministers with the principle of “the Artsakh issue is an integral part of the Armenian Cause” and had presented this approach, let’s say, in the UN General Assembly, they would be politely recommended to read the UN Charter. “Regardless of the political cooperation with the RPA, ARF is saying that it does not accept the “Madrid Principles”. Unless Azerbaijan recognizes the right to Artsakh’s self-determination, there is no need to talk about other issues,” said Arthur Yeghiazaryan.
Referring to the provision of the “Madrid principles” which implies territorial concession by the Armenian side, Artur Yeghiazaryan said, “What concessions if there is an aggression by the Azerbaijani side? The opponent wants to talk only in a language of war.” According to the ARF member, if we look at the Artsakh issue with the eyes of the UN (according to its Charter, the territories liberated by the Armenian side are considered occupied. – edit), then we should commit a suicide.
