“The first President’s concept is the same, which was rejected in 1998. What is the first President ultimately saying? He is saying, “surrender, unless we vanish into thin air.” This is the worst decision of a soldier in the battlefield that he could have made,” said ARF parliamentary candidate, Minister of Environmental Protection, Artsvik Minasyan, after the completion of the campaign in Nor-Nork Administrative district, in the interview with Aravot.am and Tert.am, referring to the leader of the “Congress-PPA” Alliance, RA first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s recent interview. “We do not reject peace but peace cannot be besought. We cannot expect peace when the other side facing you (meaning Azerbaijan – edit.) is ready to devour you,” added Mr. Minasyan.
Responding to Ter-Petrosyan’s observation that otherwise, we will be worthy of the fate of Kosovo, Artsvik Minasyan said, “Sorry, but our people have already gone through these “ominous” approaches. When we were compared with either this country or the situation, we have always defeated. Ter-Petrosyan is saying that we are handing over Karabakh not to Azerbaijan but to the international community. But who is this international community and whom it has guaranteed until now?” The Minister also commented on the first President’s conviction that those (the “no-inch-of-land supporters”) who say “no” to the concession option for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the “Madrid Principles”, are the real traitors. “I am confident that we (meaning the ARF-edit) are not satisfied with this phrase, however, I cannot but say that the political vocabulary and political techniques which the first President uses in recent days are the proof of the fact that the majority of the society does not nurse a hope towards this political power,” said Artsvik Minasyan.
