‘Perhaps we’d pass, and in that case, “Yelq” wouldn’t pass’

April 05,2017 03:30

The results of the elections were surprising to Armen Arakelyan, “Free Democrats” party Board member, which did not succeed to receive over 5% in parliamentary elections. “The process showed that everything was being done to erect an “imitation” around “Yelq’s” sole adversary. “Yelq” worked well, has good theses, and the opposition camp stood by his side.

The rest is the authority which distributed money and everything did as in classical times. It’s good that a bright thing happened – “Yelq” passed to NA”, – told Armen Arakelyan during the conversation with Aravot.am. He noted that in the future RPA may make a “gesture” and form a coalition with ARF: “And maybe will appoint PPA as a “nominal opposition”. With this maybe everything will end. Or, probably, RPA, ARF and PPA will form a coalition. If so, then this will be good. Authority will prove its true authority. Therefore, everything will fall into its place – there will be “appointed opposition” no more.”

Our interlocutor also referred to the question why the electorate didn’t give sufficient votes to “Free Democrats”. “In the event of manipulations around Yelq, people didn’t want to share their votes. I’m suggesting an option, maybe we would pass and, if so, “Yelq” wouldn’t pass. People decided there’s not an essential difference between these two forces… a well-applied mechanism worked. I’m personally very satisfied that “Yelq” is now in the parliament. I congratulate them and wish a productive work”, answered Mr. Arakelyan.
