Economist Ashot Yeghiazaryan addressed the announcement made by OSCE observers as it was possible for RA-EU framework agreement to be signed in November, in Brussels. “It is risky, we cannot ignore expecting obstacles from RF. The next step is the association agreement which cannot skip being considered as a threat by RF”, told Ashot Yeghiazaryan.
Pursuant to his assessment, President Serzh Sargsyan’s statement implying that RA may be a linking bridge between EEU and EU is not a working idea: “Our situation will worsen if we leave EEU, and remaining in EEU we do not have sovereignty. Whereas if political forces having passed into the parliament suggested to leave EEU it would be possible without quakes.”
According to Ashot Yeghiazaryan’s characterization, RA being in a crisis proceeds remaining RF’s economic suburb and Russia is in the same crisis himself. The only solution according to the economist is the integration in the Western region and “Free Democrats” were the only force suggesting this who did not pass into the parliament.
