“Armenian community of Syria is being split and abolished, the extremists destroy Armenian churches… RA is in the row of disliked countries for IS, for it is a Christian country”, announced Turkologist Mushegh Khudaverdyan.
According to him as the IS zones of influence expand, the threat for RA coming from IS will increase relative to economic, political, military fields. Addressing Syrian government airbase strikes by the US the expert noted: “Russian-American relations are rather tense as far as Syria is concerned. The US will unceasingly endeavor to expand its zone of influence at the expense of Russia’s zones of influence. In general, the current fight in Syria is similar to a world war.” As far as Turkey’s positions are concerned, pursuant to Mushegh Khudaverdyan’s characterization – if Turkey does not serve to NATO’s interests in Syria, it will remain NATO’s member no longer than a day.
