Zaruhi Postanjyan labeled ‘Yelq’ as artificial union: ‘Why should have I joined’

April 10,2017 23:30

Being led by Zaruhi Postanjyan the representatives of “Yerkir Tsirani” party presented documents to the Central Electoral Committee (CEC) on April 9 to participate in the upcoming elections of Council of Elders.

To the question why Zaruhi Postanjyan had refused to join “Yelq” bloc, the founder of the “Yerkir Tsirani” party Zaruhi Postanjyan replied, “And why should have I joined? Are you aware that I have rejected joining any alliances, since I launched a new political platform? Forasmuch as all the artificial unions fail throughout time. Therefore there was no need to join such an artificial union”.

Earlier the spokesman of the “Yelq” bloc Tigran Avinyan had told that their bloc had made three offers to Zaruhi Postanjyan, which she had rejected. “We suggested her to lead the list of the “Yelq” bloc in the elections of the Council of Elders, and she refused. The second suggestion was to form a union of “Yelq” and “Yerkir Tsirani” parties, where we again asked Zaruhi Postanjyan to lead the list, which she again refused. We also suggested to form a union of “Yelq” and “Yerkir Tsirani” led by Nikol Pashinyan, and Zaruhi Postanjyan again turned the offer down. In other words, we were open to collaborate with her through three different options, but Zaruhi Postanjyan refused all the suggestions”.
