Strasbourg, 10.04.2017 – Following an invitation from the authorities, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will send a 20-member delegation to Turkey to observe the conduct of the referendum on constitutional amendments, alongside observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
The delegation, led by Cezar Florin Preda (Romania, EPP/CD), will travel to the country from 14 to 17 April, and will meet leaders and representatives of political parties in favour of “yes” and “no”, the President of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of the media and NGOs, before observing the voting on 16 April.
