Alexander Arzumanyan on ‘Yelq’ being ‘controlled opposition’

April 13,2017 07:26

Alexander Arzumanyan – member of the parliament of the 5th session, regards the fact that the opposition will be represented by “Yelq” during the next session to be very important. He told during the press conference that “Yelq” will fight in favor of democracy to be sustained in Armenia as well as will voice the complaints of the public.

According to him, other forces can formally declare themselves an opposition but he considers “Yelq” to be the real one. To Aravot.am’s question as some people consider “Yelq” to be a controlled opposition and whether he shares the mentioned opinion or not, Alexander Arzumanyan replied: “I regard it to be very dangerous that the forces who have not passed in the result of the elections are starting to criticize the opposition passing into the parliament from their field, the opposition field. This is a long-lasting pain in Armenia’s reality when the force not receiving a mandate calls on the one having received the mandate to leave the mandate and if it has passed then they say – it is the authority’s project. Everyone should think of their faults and realize why s/he has received 1.5 and of 9%”.

Let us remind you that Levon Zurabyan, the leader of ANC faction had made a similar viewpoint alike. To the question what he is going to do from now onwards, Alexander Arzumanyan answered: “I have been in politics throughout all my lifetime, have worked in manifold spheres. A parliamentary seat is not my granddad’s inheritance… This was another experience which I went through.”
