The chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Tigran Mukuchyan informed Aravot.am that the CEC is the respondent during the investigation process of the materials submitted to the Constitutional Court by “Congress-PPA”.
To our question, whether it would be appropriate to deprive the Republican Party of Armenia’s candidate Artak Sargsyan (SAS’s Artak) of the mandate after the record, which contains details of the ways he acted, Mr. Mukuchyan replied that he will refrain from commenting at the moment. He solely announced that they had published the results of the elections, in this respect, the CEC no longer has a function as such.
Referring to the record of Artak Sargsyan, Mr. Mukuchyan gave a total score: “As the statements already made, the records are also one of the materials submitted to the Constitutional Court by “Congress-PPA” alliance. The CEC will be involved as the defendant, so it is not appropriate to represent the positions that will be presented when the facts are submitted to the Constitutional Court”. To our claim as if there was such a meeting, even it was led by Artak Sargsyan’s brother, Mr. Mukuchyan responded: “My sole comment is the mentioned”.
