On April 18, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, received the newly-appointed Ambassador of Serbia Dusan Spasojevic (residence in Athens) who handed over the copies of his credentials.
Edward Nalbandian congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment and wished Dusan Spasojevic success in his important mission. Foreign Minister of Armenia noted that the Armenian people have the warmest feelings towards the Serbian people, which is based on the intertwined history, cultural similarities and mutual sympathy. Minister Nalbandian emphasised the great potential that exists in terms of development of relations between the two countries and expressed hope that joint efforts would be taken for exploiting that potential.
Ambassador Spasojevic expressed his gratitude for the reception and best wishes, underlined that Serbia wants to further strengthen and expand the cooperation with friendly Armenia and assured that he will do his utmost to give a new momentum to the Armenian-Serbian relations.
The sides attached importance to the expansion of the legal framework, liberalisation of the visa regime, implementation of practical steps aimed at strengthening the cooperation in various fields. The sides also touched upon the cooperation in international structures.
