“It is possible that after the referendum of constitutional amendments we will see a different Turkey in the Middle East, with more ambitious projects and unpredictable behavior”, said Arabist Sargis Grigoryan referring to the referendum on constitutional amendments in Turkey.
He noted that it is not accidental that Turkey’s Kurdish-populated regions mainly voted against, “Turkey will take actions against Kurds and active military actions against organizations that do not share Erdogan’s policy. This refers especially to the Labor party of Kurdistan”. Erdogan’s “new Turkey”, according to the Arabist, will not make drastic changes in its relations with the USA and Russia, however, there will be some clarifications, “Turkey has unsolved problems inside and in surrounding regions, and deterioration of relations between the United States and Russia will work to the detriment of its programs”.
