Vazgen Safaryan, the chairman of the Progressive Communist Party, the head of the “Domestic Producers’ Union” said during the interview with Aravot.am: “Ferry transportation is very important, especially in case of the closure of Upper Lars”, referring to the Republic of Armenia’s Prime Minister’s recent statement that the rail and ferry transportation tariffs for Moscow-Yerevan direction have decreased by 32-35 percent, while in Moscow, up to 52-54 percent.
He refers to this fact as a positive achievement. However, only the ferry transportation is not a sufficient condition. The RA-Iran railway needs to be built”, he said. As the PM said, these discounts will allow businessmen to take advantage of competitive rates in alternative route of Upper Lars and save time and money. “If Armenia bought a ferry earlier, it would also be possible to transport others’ goods, and we would have a favourable price for our goods”: Vazgen Safaryan noticed.
