Zaruhi Postanjyan and the members of “Yerkir Tsirani” party have visited Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex to pay a tribute to the remembrance of the victims of Armenian Genocide.
Zaruhi Postanjyan stated that we should claim the recognition of our rights from Turkey, demand moral, material and territorial compensation. Asked how she imagined the mentioned without military operations, without war, Zaruhi Postanjyan replied: “When the Soviet Union collapsed, when the Berlin Wall fell, it took place without military actions. It will happen to Turkey alike.”
She said that we should be ready for military actions as well. According to Ms. Postanjyan, our soldiers were prepared for April War, but the officials were not, that is why we lost territories. Each year, on April 23, Turkey’s flag is burnt before the Torchlight march launch. A wave of criticisms arose on the internet regarding this, implying we should quit the policy of burning that piece of cloth and strengthen the state. To this Zaruhi Postanjyan referred: “They have right to make their complaint similarly that way.”
“Yerkir Tsirani” partakes in the mayoral elections with “To Ararat” slogan, which some specialists find legally erroneous wording. Zaruhi Postanjyan said there is no mistake in it. That is a great philosophy: “This encompasses our nation-gathering, the unity of our motherland. “To Ararat” is the commandment of our united Armenia, the unification of our divided people, which is spread around the world.” According to Ms. Postanjyan, her grandfathers have made a right choice coming to Ararat: “If they did not make that choice, we would not be this much happy, forasmuch as if you do not have a motherland, you cannot be happy. You can live a good life in a foreign country, but you can be happy merely if you have a motherland. Eventually, I do not want us to be like Roma, having no motherland. We possess motherland and are obliged to do everything for our motherland, to struggle.”
