We are not going to cry anymore

April 25,2017 12:39

I notice positive changes in Armenia related to the last April 24. Pity and crying intonations are essentially reduced in the official propaganda, in citizens, speaking near the monument of Armenian Genocide, and, generally, in the society. Skulls, corpses, descriptions of vandalism are decreased on TV.  The ”official” completion of the day by All-Armenian Orchestra concert, and the end of the concert by the ”Victory poem” of Tigran Mansuryan, I think, was very logical as well.

Being a demander is very good. If you are really a demander, not an ”asker” or ”beggar”. Because if you assume the role of asker, you should assume the poor, battered role, who has been deprived from everything in the past, and, now, as an exception, you beg for justice in order to get the little part of your lost. In 1965 people got out to the streets and chanted ”lands”. Who was supposed to give us our lands? Naturally, Moscow. Let’s suppose, it ”gave”: took from Turkey the Western Armenia and ”gave” us. Whose lands would they be? Surely Moscow’s, not ours. So what is the difference with the current situation?

At the beginning of 1988 from whom we wanted Artsakh? Naturally, from ”Lenin and Gorbachev games”. Again suppose, Gorbachev took out Artsakh from Soviet Azerbaijan and joined Soviet Armenia. But that land would not be ours as well. And, suddenly, something ”knocked” in our heads: no one will give us, if we do not take ourselves. And it is not just about lands.

In Armenia we have started to understand it, and April 24 of this year, I repeat, is the proof of that. Perhaps it should be convicted to our brothers in the Diaspora as well. We cannot tell them not to fight for the recognition of Genocide, the elimination of its consequences, because the grandparents of those people were abroad because of the Genocide. However, people, the recognition of Genocide by this or that city, state or, even, country is less important of its significance, than the political support to Artsakh by any influential person (not saying about a city, state, etc.). Maybe for that it is worth the huge political, organizational and material potential, which is used for the ”moral victories”, to use at least for the security and recognition of existing Artsakh, in the broadest sense of the word. More important Armenian Cause does not exist today.
