“No one got surprised that Trump did not pronounce the term “Genocide”. It was logical forasmuch as there was not a promise made to the Armenian community in the president’s condition. Clinton and Trump have initially had a pro-Turkish stance”: told the expert of international law Vladimir Vardanyan addressing the US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Genocide anniversary in which he utilizes “Meds Yeghern” term.
He simultaneously noted that in the USA Armenian Genocide is already personified and acquires “Meds Yeghern” qualification, though the term “Genocide” is almost not utilized. “It is understandable that Trump will not utilize the word “Genocide”, but the precise number of the victims, extinctions and other mass crimes are mentioned in his announcement. He uses the term – “historic homeland” as a gesture addressed to the Armenian community of the USA”, noted Vardanyan.
