“Regardless of what past Bulbuloglu has, one circumstance should be taken into consideration: if the UN decides it right to choose such an empty person in that important position, it will mean that the UN has degraded from its fundamental principles”, told ethnographer Hranush Kharatyan referring to the speech made by Azerbaijani representative Polad Bulbuloglu claiming for the position of UNESCO Director-General.
The ethnographer emphasized that in the speech of the Azerbaijani ambassador claiming for the mentioned position no definite project is in place, instead, there are ungrounded announcements as in case he is elected, the UNESCO expenses will be more efficient: “It seemed he told – “give me money and I will turn the world upside down”. The man wants one thing – money, but does not know why he wants money.”
Human rights activist Larisa Alaverdyan told in her turn, that Bulbuloglu is an undeserved representative of Azerbaijan, but Azerbaijan’s populace need not be confused with their political class.
