The delegate of Azerbaijan to UNESCO and the incumbent Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Polad Bulbuloglu, who claims for the position of UNESCO Director-General, appeared in an embarrassing situation during the hearings of the candidates on April 27, in France, not being able to speak English, answering the questions of the participants not properly.
The president of “For Sustainable Human Development” NGO Karine Danielyan said that Bulbuloglu is not compatible with the position of that structure’s director and can be extremely dangerous to the Republic of Armenia. Nevertheless, Karine Danielyan noted that pursuant to unofficial data, China’s delegate is the favorite among the nominees.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia Arman Navasardyan noticed that the speech of the Azerbaijani ambassador was based on finances – where from and how to bring money: “The Ugandan delegate asked a question – is there any other issue apart from money? Nonetheless, I think if Bulbuloglu is elected, he will hardly be able to work, inasmuch as the working sessions of UNESCO are held in two languages – English and French. And he does not know English.”
Navasardyan noticed another ridiculous point – Bulbuloglu has drunk water from the bottle during the session, which has surprised everyone. “Do you imagine me drinking water from the bottle now?”, joked the ambassador.
