The parliamentarians having conducted observation mission in Armenia from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) represented series of details on their visit and violations recorded by them in Armenia, in Strasbourg.
Italian delegate Adele Gambaro was asked how it appears that the observers speak of a set of violations but in the first part of the official announcement of the PACE observation mission it was stipulated that “In Armenia, the elections have been held with the preservation of human rights and fundamental freedoms.” Ms. Gambaro replied: “The report comprises the shortcomings as well, all the violations that have been recorded during the parliamentary elections of the Republic of Armenia. I believe that the report is not the best one and should be subject to serious alterations. We have witnessed manifold violations. We witnessed more violations in Armenia especially in comparison with other countries. I have been in Montenegro, Morocco, Tunisia, but we have not recorded these many violations.”
